Dr. A. Chennakesava Reddy has obtained (1) B.E Degree in Mechanical Engineering in the year 1990; (2) M.E (Mechanical Engineering) in the year 1993 from Bangalore University and (3) Ph.D on Investment Casting Process from Flyash from Osmania University, Hyderabad in the year 2000. He did a second post graduate (4) M.Tech (CAD/CAM) from JNT University, Hyderabad in the year 2002 and he has acquired a second (5) Ph.D in the field of CAD/CAM from JNT University, Hyderabad in the year 2006. He also did (6) LLB in the year 2023 from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He is also proficient in the use of Engineering Software (CAD, FEA, CFD, and CAM).

Dr. A. Chennakesava Reddy began his career in the year 1994 as Assistant Professor in Arunai Engineering College – Thiruvannamalai. He joined MJCET, Hyderabad as Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering in the same year 1994 and therein became Associate professor in the year 2000. In the year 2001, he moved as Associate Professor to Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad. He was selected as Associate Professor at JNTU, Hyderabad in the year 2003 and he became Professor of Mechanical Engineering, JNTUH in the year 2006 and Senior Professor in the year 2016.

He has completed several R&D and Consultancy Projects sponsored by AICTE, UGC, DRDO and State Government worth 300 Lakhs. He has guided 75 M.Tech projects successfully and guided 25 research scholars for their Ph.D. He is member of Professional Societies; viz., Indian Institute of Technical Education, Institution of Engineers (India), Institute of Indian Foundrymen, Indian Institute of Welding, Indian Institution of Production Engineers, and Indian Society for Manufacturing Engineers.

He has published 591 technical papers in various Journals and Conferences at National and International level. He is the Editorial Member for Journal of Manufacturing Engineering.He is the author of textbooks on (1) Finite Element Methods, (2) CAD/CAM and (3) Computer Graphics published by Prentice Hall of India; (4) Fuzzy Logic & Neural Networks published by New Age International; (5) Instrumentation and Controls published by Cengage Learning (both India and Singapore Editions).  

He is the recipient of “Best Paper” awards eleven times. He is also the recipient of "Best Teacher" award in the year 2014 from the Government of Telangana State, India . He is in the "Top 10 Scholars''with h-index of 46 in the research areas of CAE, CAD/CAM, Manufacturing Technology, Metal Matrix Composites and Characterization of Materials across the world as per Google Scholar Citations.

He has organized a number of workshops, seminars, conferences and short term training programs for the benefit of the fellow teachers and the engineering professionals and unemployed rural youth. He is the resource person for a number of seminars and short term training programs organized by various Institutes.

He has served in administration in the capacities of (1) Nodal Officer (Examinations); (2) HOD of Mechanical Engineering, JNTUH CEJ; (3) Vice-Principal, JNTUH CEJ; (4) HOD of Mechanical Engineering, JNTUH CEH; (5) Chairman for Board of Studies in Manufacturing Engineering, JNT University Hyderabad; and (6) Director for Foreign Relations, JNT University Hyderabad.

He is (1) the Member, Board of Studies in the Mechanical Engineering; (2) the Governing Body Member for several Affiliated Engineering Colleges in the State of Telangana and Deemed to be Universities in the State of Karnataka. He is also Academic Senate Member for several Autonomous Engineering Colleges in the state of Telangana. He has acted as the Member for Standing Hearing Committee (SHC) and Standing Appleate Commitee (SAC) appointed by AICTE New Delhi for the purpose of, santion of New Institutes and closure of Old Institutes.
