About the Journal

       The concept of globalization has enhanced the value and the importance of English Language learning and teaching. Sensitive to this development, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad is committed to offer courses, which support and promote the use of English language to their students with the aim of providing the necessary language skills in order to make them competent to face the wide world. At the same time, JNTUH, by offering research programmes in English, is facilitating researchers to make value addition to their intellect and career. The electronic resources in academic and professional environments have become indispensable especially in activities dealing with learning and teaching as well as research. Keeping up with the trends and innovative methodologies in teaching-learning process, a totally computer aided multimedia English Language Communication Skills Laboratory was established by JNTUH in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences to enable the engineering students learn the language skills in an effective manner. This endeavor has yielded fruitful results and improved English language teaching qualitatively. As a part of this humble mission to encourage and promote studies and research in the field of English Language Studies, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of JNT University intended to release Forum for Musings: The JNTUH Journal of English Studies from the academic year 2007-2008.

        The journal is proposed to be a bi-annual publication that includes articles on English Literature, Language, Linguistics, creative writing, Interviews and Book Reviews that may offer significant insights. This Journal envisages and is initiated with the specific objective to

  • Provide opportunities for scholars and teachers in service, to exchange experience with their peers and to mutually learn from each other.
  • Provide a forum for the research scholars to keep themselves abreast of the latest issues and perspectives in various fields English.
  • Create an appropriate platform for the researchers to make their study in a particular genre or area more meaningful and worthwhile.
  • Enable the fraternity of English teachers to come out with their ideas, which enrich the value of profession.
  • Create the culture of learning and self-improvement among the teachers and researchers. Provide opportunities to widen their knowledge and to pursue research studies.
  • Provide a suitable opportunity for the academicians and scholars to share some of their thoughts and air their valuable views, which fit into the concept of this Journal. As this is proposed to be a nonstop journal
